NAAC Accreditation Software  - NAAConnectR

In this website, we will delve into the significance of NAAC accreditation for all stakeholders involved in higher education institutions (HEI). Our primary focus will be on understanding the meaning of NAAC accreditation, exploring the Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) process, and preparing the NAAC Self-study Report (SSR).

Brief overview of NAAC Accreditation

  1. NAAC focuses on fostering holistic student development by aiding them in acquiring skills, knowledge, and quality education, setting it apart from traditional educational systems.
  2. NAAC accreditation serves as a measure of an institution's quality across various aspects such as education, infrastructure, research, teaching and learning, and more.
  3. Accredited institutions by NAAC become eligible for UGC grants, RUSA grants, financial assistance, and numerous other benefits.
  4. Institutions with top NAAC grades like 'A,' 'B,' and 'C' are highly sought-after due to their commitment to providing high-quality education.
  5. Therefore, institutions aiming to enhance student learning outcomes through the implementation of best practices should strive for NAAC accreditation to maximize their potential.

Mission of NAAC

The mission of the NAAC shows the long-term goals of the NAAC Committee when it comes to education. Following  are the major highlights of the NAAC mission:

  • Periodic assessments of the teaching-learning methods
  • Undertaking research and training programs for student success
  • Promote the educational environment with research and proven educational techniques
  • Collaboration with the stakeholders for improvement and feedback in work
  • Encourage the concept of self-evaluation, autonomy, and innovation

Framework of NAAC

The new A&A Framework (revised) of NAAC shows the paradigm shift in the evaluation of the educational core values. The main highlights of the assessment process are as follows:

  • Qualitative peer judgment is replaced with the new & updated data-based quantitative analysis to get better transparency.
  • Simplification of the reports.
  • The new element of the 3rd party data valuation.
  • Online evaluation score (70% weightage).
  • More participation of students and alumni in the overall NAAC assessment process.
  • Pre-qualifier for the NAAC peer team visit (SGS(System Generated Score)) Score – 30%).
  • ICT(Information & Communication Technology)-enabled institutions can qualify for the quality test more quickly as it promotes the use of digitalization.

Key Benefits

Improves internal processes and communication: ITO(Information Technology Outsourcing) ensure seamless internal processes during the NAAC Accreditation. Higher Education Institutes focus on inter and intra-institutional communication and thus eliminate the communication gap between students and faculty

Ensures teaching success: The journey of Accreditation introduces institutions to modern & innovative educational methods. In the long run, it evaluates the image of the institution and offers a new direction for success

SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis) analysis and continuous evaluation: It helps the institution identify its strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities using a continuous evaluation process.

Maximizes Enrollment Rate of Students: It provides the institutions with consistent details regarding the quality of courses offered so that the colleges or institutes, or universities can adopt the best practices. An organization prefers to recruit candidates with better skills and knowledge.

Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) process

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) preparing for NAAC Accreditation engage in self-assessment through the submission of documents such as the Self Study Report (SSR) and the Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA). Through these submissions, HEIs demonstrate their adherence to NAAC committee's policies and criteria.

According to the Revised Accreditation Framework (RAF), NAAC has implemented a three-tiered ICT-enabled accreditation process. The recent revision emphasizes the inclusion of the Student Satisfaction Survey, Data Verification and Validation, which further enhances NAAC's overall objectives. These steps involve substantial data collection and reporting efforts.

How does the NAAC Accreditation Work?

3 level accreditation process:

  1. Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) and Self Study Report (SSR)
  2. Data Validation and Verification (DVV) & Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS)
  3. Onsite Assessment - Peer Review by Visiting Teams

Steps of NAAC Assessment & Accreditation process:

1. Registration: The process begins with HEIs registering on the NAAC website and filling out the registration form with a valid AISHE reference code. This step is mandatory and establishes the institution's profile.

2. Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA): HEIs proceed to fill in the IIQA form, providing comprehensive institutional information. The IIQA serves as a foundation for the accreditation process and requires the submission of various documents online.

3. Self Study Report (SSR) Submission: Upon acceptance of the IIQA, HEIs are required to submit the SSR. This report outlines the institution's self-assessment, highlighting its strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement.

4. Data Validation and Verification (DVV): HEIs undergo a process of data validation and verification, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the information provided. This step is essential for maintaining the integrity of the accreditation process.

5. Pre-qualifier Score and Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS): HEIs work on achieving a pre-qualifier score, which contributes to the evaluation of their performance. In addition, preparation for the Student Satisfaction Survey is carried out, focusing on understanding and enhancing student experiences.

6. Onsite Peer Visit: NAAC conducts an onsite peer visit, where a team of experts visits the HEI for an in-depth assessment. The team reviews various aspects, including infrastructure, faculty, student support services, curriculum, research, and more.

7. Institutional Grading: Based on the evaluation of all the preceding steps, NAAC announces the institutional grading, reflecting the quality and performance of the HEI. The grading provides recognition and validation of the institution's efforts in maintaining and enhancing educational standards.
